Our Purpose
Our purpose is to provide an experience for each client that is so
outstanding it has them telling their friends & family.
We provide haircuts, extensive color and texture services, conditioning
treatments, make-up application, full service hand and foot care, waxing, body
treatments, facials and a full range of Aveda hair care, skincare and make-up
for home use.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: stylists and estheticians
All stylists and estheticians will be paid a
guaranteed minimum starting salary per hour and will be required to
work up to 44 hours per week. You will be paid bi-weekly based on the number of
hours worked. Gratuities are shared amongst team members.
Our expectation is
that you are covering your base pay after 90 days of being promoted to
Technician.
You will be eligible for salary increase every 6
months at your bi- annual plan and review. Your salary increase will be determined
by specific advancement criteria as outlined in our broadband pay scale.
Promotion will occur as fast as you develop yourself.
You will be asked to pass a number of technical and product knowledge tests
before being eligible for promotion, as well as meet service and retail sales
goals and customer service standards and retention.
Career Growth
Guidance
We believe that your goals are most important and are the key to your
success as a professional. We will help
you determine your goals and develop a plan to get to on the road to achieving
your goals. Some ways that we help are
through quarterly plan and reviews, tracking service and retail sales and
booking percentages and teaching you proven systems of success and tested
techniques to improve service relationships with our customers.
Paid Vacation
You are eligible for our paid vacation benefit after 1 year of
employment. You will receive 1 week after your first year and two weeks after
your second year, and thereafter. The
Government of Canada requires a 4% vacation pay which we credit to each
paycheque.
Team Member Discounts
As a member of the Cat’s Meow Team you will receive
discounts on salon and spa services. As
well as a 40% discount on regularly priced Aveda products. We enjoy staff hair
day every eight weeks, where we take time for ourselves so that we can be our
own best advertisement.
Education
All salon employees are required to regularly attend in-salon education.
We bring in outside educators to teach us technical and business skills. We
also feature training by Sharon and the rest of the staff so we can learn from
each other. We promote continued education outside of the salon as well and
encourage our team to continue to develop their professional and personal
skills. After 90 days, you may be eligible to have a portion of your outside
education paid for by The Cat’s Meow.
If, however, an employee is terminated from employment by The Cat’s Meow
Hair Salon Inc. or resigns employment with The Cat’s Meow Hair Salon Inc.
within six months of attending a class partially paid for by the salon, the
employee understands that he or she must reimburse the salon for the amount The
Cat’s Meow contributed to cover the cost of the class.
Marketing
and Advertising
We provide each operator with monthly advertising including but not limited
to: Exceptional web site access,
quarterly we miss you call to any clients we have not serviced, follow-up
calls, promotional emails and an e-newsletter.
We also participate in various community events and service clubs. We
represent our salon with beautifully designed menus of service which detail
each service we provide. Individual
business cards as well as 2 for 1 and V.I.P. promotional cards and a Pamper Me
package are available for each operator to promote themselves.
We have a referral program to
encourage our existing customers to refer their friends and family members as
well as a rewards program that gives our clients a financial incentive with
frequent spending.

We have aligned ourselves with three of the foremost wellness companies
that focus on health and beauty. All our
products, including our hair care and hair color, skin care, make-up and health
products are naturally derived and good for the environment. We are committed to the message behind the bottle
and represent companies that have a strong brand loyalty. These companies
support us with on-going education.
