Salon and Spa Etiquette

To ensure everyone who visits The Cat's Meow Salon and Spa has a relaxing and positive experience, we have outlined some spa etiquette tips.

Spa Reservations

We recommend you book your appointments as far in advance as possible so the most convenient times and dates are available. A credit card or gift card number is required to hold all multiple spa bookings or packages.  Please ensure we have your correct phone numbers for confirmation purposes.

Preparing For Your Visit

We recommend that you leave cell phones, pagers and valuables at home for your visit.  We will provide you with robes, slippers or housecoats for appropriate treatments.  Please try to bring open-toed sandals if you are having a pedicure to avoid damaging polish.

General Etiquette

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointments.  It is much more relaxing to have time to unwind before your appointment than to rush in at the last minute.This allows you fill out the necessary paperwork and to change into your spa attire. 

For your convenience a shower is available for you to use after treatments.  

You will be asked to undress to your comfort level for body treatments.  Your therapist will keep your body draped with sheets during the treatment and only expose the areas being worked on.  With treatments such as body wraps you will be draped with hand towels in order to reap maximum benefits.  Underwear may be kept on, or swimsuits may be worn if that is your comfort level.

If you are receiving a body wrap, do not shave or wax your legs at least 8 hours prior to treatment.

For gentlemen, please shave two hours prior to your facial treatments.

Please know that you are in a professional spa therapy operation and do not expect anything other than therapeutic spa treatments.

Give your  therapist feedback as to your comfort and special trouble areas. We are here to make this the most relaxing and beneficial treatment for you, so tell us what your needs are.  If you would rather enjoy the treatment in silence, that is your choice as well.

Relax and enjoy the benefits of the spa, allowing others to take care of you, but respect that the room must be prepared and used for the next client.  Please know that you must leave the room upon completion of treatment within a reasonable amount of time.

Payment Options

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Interac and cash.  We also have Cat's Meow Exclusive Gift Cards and Instant On-line Gift Certificates. Prices do not includes taxes or gratuities.If our staff deserves such a compliment, please let our receptionist know and we can add gratuity to your payment.  We also appreciate referrals!

A Note On Gratuities

Leaving gratuity is always left to the discretion of your guests.  As in all service-related businesses, it is common practice to leave gratuity when the professional has performed a service to the guest's satisfaction.  customary gratuity in day spas is 15% or more of the cost of the treatment. Gift certificates for treatments and/or packages do not include gratuities.

Note to Parents

We love to see children at the Cat's Meow when they are scheduled for an appointment, however, we do feel that most children would be safer and happier somewhere else, while you are receiving your salon and spa service. In order for all of our guests, including yourself, to fully enjoy our services in a relaxing environment without distraction it is essential that you make child care arrangements prior to your appointment.


The Cat's Meow Cancellation Policy

Appointment times are reserved specially for you. We understand that certain circumstances are unavoidable and may require cancellation. Out of respect for our technician's time, we request a 24-hour notice for any cancellations or reservation changes. A 50% charge for each service missed that is not cancelled 24 hours in advance allows us to provide partial compensation for our wonderful staff. A full charge will apply  for "no-shows". We make confirmation to help you keep your appointments and avoid charges.

For pre-booked packages & parties we require 48 hours notice to cancel or a charge of 50% of the cancelled service amount will be charged to the account. 

Take Home Recommendations

Your professional esthetician or stylist will recommend home treatment products to extend the benefits of your service.  We use only AVEDA skin care, hair care, haircolor and make-up.  And we use O.P.I. nail products.  We can help you with any concerns or questions.

Service Guarantee

We offer a 100% guarantee on ALL services within the two weeks after they were performed.  You may book a redo appointment at any time within the first week, thereafter only with the use of recommended at-home care products.  Corrective color usually requires more than on e service to achieve desired results.  Sharon Huckle, our Artistic Director, will determine all guarantees.  Because of the nature of home coloring products we cannot guarantee color services if the clients has previously had color done outside of our salon.

Product Home Care

Continued results are achieved through daily use of professional products at home.  Your professional esthetician or stylist will recommend a home care regimen to maintain you results between visits.  Please visit www.aveda.com for more information on the products we carry. We offer a 100% satisfaction gurantee on all of our skin and hair products.  If you decide that what you purchased is not the right product for you we will gladly exchange it for another product within 14 days of the original purchase.
